Acute Gastritis: Acupuncture as a Treatment

Acute gastritis is a condition that occurs when the stomach lining becomes acutely inflamed due to various reasons such as excessive alcohol consumption, stress, infections, or the use of certain medications. Symptoms include abdominal pain, nausea, vomiting, bloating, and heartburn. While traditional treatments like medication and dietary changes are common, acupuncture has emerged as an alternative treatment method that may alleviate symptoms and promote healing.

Acupuncture as a Treatment Method:

In the case of acute gastritis, acupuncture focuses on relieving stomach pain, reducing inflammation, and normalizing digestive function.

Research Results:

Although there is limited research on the use of acupuncture for the treatment of acute gastritis, some studies suggest positive results:

A study published in "Acupuncture in Medicine" in 2017 reported a significant reduction in stomach pain and nausea in patients with acute gastritis who received acupuncture treatment.

Another study, conducted by Chen et al. and published in "Journal of Acupuncture and Meridian Studies" in 2020, showed similar results with an improvement in symptoms and a faster healing process in patients after acupuncture treatment.

Perspectives:

While further research is needed, preliminary results suggest that acupuncture may be a beneficial and safe treatment method for alleviating symptoms and promoting healing in patients with acute gastritis.
